Chapter 21: The Pirate

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Gorian Shard attacks Nevarro in retaliation for the confrontation with his pirates. Greef Karga leads the townspeople out of danger and asks Carson Teva for New Republic help. Teva takes the request to Coruscant, but the authorities prioritize member worlds and will not provide the force he needs. Elia Kane reinforces the argument against intervening. Suspecting a wider threat in the Outer Rim, Teva finds Din Djarin's covert through R5-D4 and delivers Karga's plea himself.

Din asks the Mandalorians to help, offering the prospect of land where they can live openly. Paz Vizsla supports him because Din and Bo-Katan saved his son. Their attack splits between the streets and the skies: Din draws the pirate fighters away while Bo-Katan drops troops into town. The ground force breaks the pirates' positions, and the two ships attack Shard's cruiser. Vane abandons his captain, but Shard refuses to retreat and turns his remaining guns on the people below. The Mandalorians destroy the cruiser before he can finish the attack.

Karga grants the rescuers land, giving the covert a home on Nevarro. The Armorer asks Bo-Katan to remove her helmet and tells her to gather other Mandalorian groups. Her experience of different traditions may help unite them for a return to Mandalore. Elsewhere, Teva finds the wrecked prison shuttle that was carrying Gideon to trial. Gideon's body is missing, and a fragment of beskar in the cabin raises a disturbing question about who extracted him. Teva has evidence of an escape, but no confirmed answer about the attackers.
