The Mandalorian delivers the child to the Client and collects the promised beskar, but questions about what will happen next receive no answer. At the enclave, the Armorer turns the payment into a new suit while another warrior challenges his work for former Imperials. The argument exposes the wound left by the Empire's treatment of their people. Their shared creed restores order, and the new armour gives the hunter protection that his damaged equipment no longer could.
Greef celebrates the completed commission and offers another job far away. Preparing to leave, the Mandalorian cannot put the child out of his mind. He returns to the Imperial compound, overhears an order to extract material from the captive and fights his way into the laboratory. Dr Pershing insists that he kept the child alive. The hunter takes it back and clears a path outside, abandoning the agreement that brought him his reward and making himself a target of the same guild he served.
Tracking fobs draw the other hunters into the streets, where Greef demands that he surrender the child. The Mandalorian refuses and is pinned down until warriors from the enclave emerge to cover his escape. Their intervention means they will have to abandon their hidden home. He reaches the Razor Crest, survives Greef's final attempt to stop him and departs. The metal knob he earlier forbade the child to touch now becomes a small gift as they leave together.
