Hughie returns home shaken by killing Translucent and throws away the superhero merchandise he once treasured. Butcher recruits Mother's Milk, promising a chance to bring down Vought while concealing that Frenchie is already involved. Their next target is Popclaw, whose relationship with A-Train may explain what he was doing before Robin died. Hughie's technical skills let the group place surveillance software on her computer without revealing their purpose.
The footage shows A-Train preparing for his race against Shockwave with Compound V. Losing would threaten his place in the Seven, and he takes the drug despite Popclaw's objections. Frenchie tries to obtain a vial at the race, while Hughie distracts Annie. She has problems of her own: Vought turns approval of her street rescue into pressure to wear a more revealing costume she does not want.
A-Train wins but publicly claims he is single, humiliating Popclaw after promising to acknowledge their relationship. She takes Compound V herself and accidentally kills her landlord. Butcher uses the recording to force her to provide information about the drug, turning the failed theft into a new route through Vought's secrets. Homelander and the Deep also recover Translucent's remains, accompanied by a warning. The Seven now know that someone has deliberately targeted one of their members.
