Hughie and Butcher discover that Translucent survived their fight and take him to Frenchie, who reluctantly helps contain him. An electrified cage keeps the invisible prisoner trapped while they search for a weakness in his nearly indestructible skin. A specially made bullet fails, and Butcher cannot persuade CIA official Susan Raynor to give him the files he wants. Meanwhile, Vought starts searching for its missing star.
Annie is assigned to patrol with the Deep and warns him against touching her again. Away from the cameras, she intervenes when two men attack a woman. Ashley reprimands her because a recording shows the fight without the victim who fled. Stillwell also uses the shapeshifter Doppelganger to compromise Senator Calhoun, turning his resistance to military superheroes into another problem Vought can solve through blackmail.
Frenchie realizes that Translucent's protection does not extend to his insides and places an explosive inside him. The frightened captive identifies Popclaw as A-Train's girlfriend, giving Hughie a lead into Robin's death. As Homelander approaches, Butcher and Frenchie lure him away, leaving Hughie with the detonator. Translucent escapes his cage and argues that Hughie can still return to his old life. Hughie lets him walk away, then changes his mind and kills him.
