Season synopsis

With Jessica Pearson in Chicago, Harvey Specter takes over as managing partner of Pearson Specter Litt and struggles with the demands of the job. Donna asks for a place in firm leadership after years as Harvey’s assistant, and he makes her chief operating officer. Harvey brings Alex Williams over from Bratton Gould, putting the firm in a fight with Alex’s former employer. Alex negotiates a settlement that protects the firm, while Mike returns from the legal clinic on terms that let him keep taking pro bono cases and supporting its work.
Mike’s attempt to balance corporate cases with the clinic becomes harder when he uncovers a prison-related cover-up tied to Alex’s negotiations and a major client. Harvey, Mike, and their colleagues resolve that case, but former senior partners then join with Rand Kaldor & Zane to push Harvey and Louis out. Mike convinces Rachel’s father, Robert Zane, to join Specter Litt, helping defeat the plan and creating Zane Specter Litt. In Chicago, Jessica loses her New York license and then her Illinois license while challenging a powerful developer.
Harvey also faces his growing feelings for Donna while dating therapist Paula Agard. Paula gives him an ultimatum about Donna, and Harvey ends their relationship rather than remove Donna from his life. The season closes with Mike and Rachel marrying before their friends and family. Mike tells Harvey that he and Rachel are leaving for Seattle to run a law clinic focused on class-action cases, making the wedding both their farewell to the New York firm and the end of Mike and Harvey’s daily partnership.
