Season 6 begins with Mike Ross serving his two-year sentence, while Pearson Specter Litt faces a class-action lawsuit covering every case he handled before his fraud came to light. In prison, Mike’s apparent roommate Frank Gallo proves to be an enemy from Harvey Specter’s past and threatens Rachel. Mike protects his real roommate Kevin Miller, then becomes entangled in Harvey and prosecutor Sean Cahill’s effort to expose Kevin’s father-in-law’s insider trading without making Kevin betray his wife.
Harvey’s deal helps secure Mike’s early release, but freedom does not immediately restore his old career. Mike takes a job at a legal clinic, where he sees how badly its lawyers need courtroom experience. Rachel, still studying at Columbia, works with Jessica Pearson on an Innocence Project case after the project rejects it; they help clear Leonard Bailey. That work renews Jessica’s interest in public service, and she decides to leave New York for Chicago with Jeff Malone.
Harvey persuades Mike to pursue a legitimate legal career, and Jessica returns from Chicago to testify at the bar hearing. The panel admits Mike, allowing him to practise law legitimately. Harvey offers him a place at the firm with room for pro bono work, and Mike tells Harvey he should become managing partner. The finale also leaves Donna unsettled after she sells her business venture, while Louis and Tara’s relationship ends.
