Kendall and Shiv travel to Caroline's home in Barbados to secure Roman's board vote, initially on opposite sides of the GoJo deal. In New York, Matsson offers Tom the chief executive job rather than Shiv, preferring someone willing to follow his direction. Greg overhears enough of Matsson's conversation to alert Kendall that Shiv will be passed over. After Kendall tells her, the siblings agree to oppose the sale and back him as their sole leader. They briefly enjoy being together, making Kendall drink a foul mixture in Caroline's kitchen. Back in New York, they watch a recording of Logan at dinner before Shiv learns that Tom is Matsson's chosen replacement.
At Waystar, Roman wavers after seeing Gerri, and Kendall's forceful hug reopens his stitches. Roman still votes against the sale, but Shiv steps out before casting the deciding vote. She says Kendall would not be a good chief executive and brings up the waiter's death. Kendall denies the confession he previously made, then attacks Roman during their argument. Shiv votes for the deal, ending Kendall's attempt to take over. Tom arrives as the incoming CEO and keeps Greg despite his leak. Shiv joins Tom in a car, where their hands rest together without resolving their marriage. Roman drinks alone at a bar. Kendall walks through the park with Colin following and sits facing the water.
