Kendall and Roman work to secure board votes for removing Logan as chief executive. Roman tries to persuade Lawrence to support them, while Kendall visits Logan at home for dinner after Marcia asks him to come. Shiv spends time with Nate, who raises the possibility of her joining Gil Eavis’s presidential campaign. Greg has dinner with Ewan, who tells him to stay out of the coming vote, then meets Tom and lets slip that the board is about to act. Tom calls Kendall to learn what is happening. The coming meeting forces directors to choose between Kendall’s promised change and their longstanding relationship with his father.
On vote day, Kendall flies to Long Island to win over an ailing director. A terror threat closes the airspace, and his taxi gets stuck in traffic, so Frank begins the meeting without him. Kendall calls in and proposes the motion by speakerphone. Logan refuses to leave the room and pressures the directors as they vote. Roman falters, Lawrence abstains, and Ewan backs his brother; the motion fails. Logan fires Kendall and Frank, along with the others who voted against him. Kendall leaves the building in shock as Logan receives an apologetic call from the President. The family leaves the meeting with Logan still in command.
