Kendall rushes to hospital after Logan’s stroke, where medical decisions quickly become entangled with control of Waystar. Marcia asserts her authority as Logan’s wife when Shiv demands another hospital. Roman and Connor want to honour Logan’s recent trust papers, while Shiv fears the influence they would give Marcia. Kendall argues that the company needs him as interim chief executive. Greg is sent to Logan’s apartment for belongings and receives opposing instructions about the trust documents. Roman wants them brought back; Shiv wants them forgotten. Greg returns without the papers, navigating his first conflict between relatives who can determine his employment.
The existing succession plan also becomes uncertain because Logan fired Frank and promised Roman his position shortly before collapsing. Shiv raises Gerri as a possible caretaker, but Gerri declines. Kendall approaches Frank about returning, without success, and ultimately accepts Roman as chief operating officer alongside his own acting leadership. Tom chooses the hospital crisis to propose to Shiv, who accepts. Gerri then reveals the scale of Logan’s hidden borrowing: three billion dollars tied to the company’s expansion into parks. Kendall receives authority together with a financial problem he did not know existed. As the family settles into an exhausted vigil, Logan wakes in his hospital bed.
