Dal-mi searches for the Nam Do-san she remembers from her letters, determined to introduce him at In-jae's party. Won-deok visits Ji-pyeong and asks him to find the real man whose name they borrowed. His search leads to Samsan Tech, where Do-san and his friends Chul-san and Yong-san are struggling to explain their lack of progress to Do-san's parents. Ji-pyeong sees little reason to believe their company will succeed.
Dal-mi nevertheless tracks Do-san down through an online advertisement for a signed baseball. Before they can meet, Ji-pyeong intercepts him and explains the correspondence. He offers money if Do-san will impersonate Dal-mi's childhood friend for an evening. Do-san asks for help entering Sandbox instead, hoping the investor will take his work seriously. Ji-pyeong refuses to promise admission and delivers a blunt assessment of their prospects, leaving the programmers disappointed.
At the cafe where she works, Dal-mi handles a crowd of music fans and helps set a daily sales record. Her reward is a small gift voucher rather than the permanent position she wants, because she lacks a university degree. Won-deok buys her an outfit for the party, and Dal-mi decides to attend even without her supposed partner. Moved by the letters he has read, Do-san dresses up and arrives to greet her, while Ji-pyeong watches their meeting.
