Superhuman Law

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Jennifer's intervention in court makes her a public celebrity under the unwanted name She-Hulk. It also costs her job: the defence argues that rescuing the jury compromised the case, and her employer treats her powers as a liability. Other firms reject her too. At a family dinner, the flood of questions and advice makes the situation harder, though her father takes her aside to ask how she is coping. Jen is left looking for work while everyone else talks about her new identity.

Holden Holliway offers a way back into law at GLK&H, and Jen agrees on condition that Nikki comes with her. On arrival, she learns that she will lead the superhuman law division and must work as She-Hulk. The firm wants her transformed appearance as well as her qualifications. Her first assignment is a parole application for Emil Blonsky, the Abomination, who once fought Bruce. Refusing the case would mean losing the position she has only just secured.

Jen visits Blonsky in prison, where he presents himself as a reformed man with plans for a peaceful life. His account gives her enough reason to consider representing him, but she first checks with Bruce. Her cousin has made peace with Blonsky and supports her choice; he is also travelling aboard a spacecraft. Jen accepts the case, only for news footage to show Abomination fighting outside prison. Her new client's apparent escape immediately threatens the argument for his release.
