After Carrillo's death, the investigation stalls while Pablo remains free and his business continues. Murphy attends to the loss among their Colombian colleagues, and Gaviria seeks another commander for the Search Bloc. Colonel Hugo Martínez takes the assignment with a different view of police work: catching Pablo must not deepen the corruption and abuse that have already damaged the public's trust in the authorities.
Peña explores the offer from Judy Moncada and the Castaño brothers. Maritza helps draw Limón into view, giving the investigators a route toward a safe house occupied by Velasco. When official approval does not arrive quickly enough, Peña calls the paramilitaries. Their raid captures Velasco, whose interrogation points to the people handling Pablo's money. Judy recognises the chance to weaken the organisation by taking away its financial support.
The Lion arrives expecting to meet Velasco and instead falls into Cali's reach. Meanwhile, Murphy reconnects briefly with Connie before she returns to their daughter, and Martínez begins a systematic grid search that Peña doubts will work. Outside the official operation, Pablo's associates start dying at the hands of the new alliance. Velasco's body is displayed with the name Los Pepes. Murphy asks who they are, unaware that his partner has already helped the group begin its campaign.
