Darlene's group listens to evidence of Project Berenstain, the FBI's surveillance operation, and prepares to release it. Mobley fears that investigators are already close, especially with Romero dead and other suspects being detained. Their occupied hideout stops being safe when Susan Jacobs unexpectedly comes home. She sees the people and equipment inside, forcing the group to restrain her while they argue over whether anything can keep her from identifying them to police.
Susan suffers a head injury during an attempt to escape. The hackers search her accounts for material they could use against her, but Darlene takes a more personal approach. She remembers Susan laughing when E Corp escaped responsibility for Washington Township. After confronting her, Darlene uses a stun gun despite knowing about her heart condition. Susan falls into the pool and dies. Darlene describes the killing as self-defense, then works with Cisco to dispose of the body.
Mobley and Trenton want to leave before the group brings more danger upon them. Dom questions Mobley, but the bureau cannot hold him and he is released. Trenton waits for him at their agreed meeting place without knowing why he has not arrived. Angela spends the holiday with a date and faces contempt from someone who knows her father. Darlene later finds Cisco messaging the Dark Army about her presence. She smashes his computer and strikes him with a baseball bat.
