Elliot confronts Mr. Robot after discovering his father's face in the family photographs. Their journey takes him back to his childhood home in New Jersey, where Elliot experiences an argument and pushes Mr. Robot through a window. Angela and Darlene search for him and eventually find him alone at Edward Alderson's grave. Edward has been dead for years, and the injuries Elliot thought belonged to Mr. Robot are on his own body. Elliot recognizes that Mr. Robot is a persona within himself, rather than his father returned to life. Darlene brings him home and leaves to obtain his medication.
Tyrell and Joanna welcome their son, but Joanna tells him to repair the damage he has caused if he wants to remain part of their family. Price then fires Tyrell because the investigation into Sharon's death and his conflict with Scott make him a liability. Angela receives an unexpected visit from Colby, who offers her a route into employment at E Corp despite their legal confrontation. At Elliot's apartment, Tyrell admits killing Sharon and explains that he knows about fsociety. He wants to join the attack against the company that has dismissed him. Elliot takes him to the arcade and describes encrypting E Corp's records. While Tyrell looks around, Elliot's attention settles on the popcorn machine where Darlene hid a gun.
