Zombie Kid

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

The campaign incident leaves Gang-tae dealing with Gi-do's angry father, who arrives at the hospital demanding consequences. Gang-tae challenges his treatment of his son and is slapped for answering back. Director Oh has footage of the assault and refuses to let the politician dictate the hospital's response. Gang-tae's memories of his own mother run alongside the argument: she expected him to protect Sang-tae, even when he wanted attention and comfort himself. Moon-young tries to draw closer during their drive and meal together, but her questions about his family anger him. He leaves despite her repeated declarations that she loves him.

Sang-tae finally spends time with Moon-young at the hospital, taking photographs and talking about his art. Gang-tae interrupts them sharply, upsetting his brother and insulting Moon-young's ability to understand anyone else's feelings. She subsequently agrees to walk with her father, but Dae-hwan attacks and tries to strangle her before staff intervene. Gang-tae sees her walking alone and initially goes home. Reading her book Zombie Kid makes him cry as its child reaches for a mother's warmth. When Jae-su tells him what happened at the hospital, Gang-tae takes the motorcycle and searches for her. He finds Moon-young barefoot in the rain, puts his jacket around her shoulders and holds her.
