Rapunzel and the Cursed Castle

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Gang-tae takes Moon-young away from the rain, but their attempt to stop at a motel fails when neither has money. He brings her to his room instead and tries to keep the visit hidden. During the night, he explains that Sang-tae studies his expressions, so he has learned to conceal his unhappiness. Moon-young challenges his reading of Zombie Kid and asks about the girl he remembers. The arrangement collapses the next morning when Ju-ri discovers her there. Jealousy and old resentment turn the encounter into a fight. Gang-tae separates them, sends Moon-young home and then has to explain his lies to his brother.

The publishing company is also coming apart. Sang-in faces compensation demands and depleted finances, and his attempt to persuade Moon-young to write again gets him nowhere. At the hospital, Sang-tae begins his mural while Ju-ri asks Gang-tae not to leave simply because her feelings make him uncomfortable. Moon-young gives Sang-tae a lift and takes him to her mansion, where she offers an illustration contract and somewhere to live. Gang-tae discovers where his brother has gone and phones her. He admits he recognizes the house from childhood. As he approaches its gates, Moon-young tells Sang-tae about a girl kept inside a cursed castle. A memory shows her rejecting the young Gang-tae's flowers under her mother's watch.
