Rhaenyra presses Helaena for useful visions, but her captive cannot give the clear answers she wants. Alicent reaches Harrenhal, where Aemond kills the man who escorted her and welcomes his mother into the future he imagines with Alys. Alys suspects that Alicent has come to hurt him. Alicent cannot bring herself to stab her son, but gives him poisoned wine and escapes while Alys finds him collapsing inside the castle.
Daemon finds Rhaena after she leaves the Vale to hunt Vhagar and seek forgiveness for Jace's death. Rhaenyra arrives with Addam and discovers that Daemon concealed his daughter's involvement. The confrontation becomes dangerous when the dragons attack one another. Rhaenyra takes Rhaena away on Syrax, while Caraxes fights Sheepstealer and leaves the wild dragon wounded. Back in the Red Keep, Daemon's explanation fails to settle Rhaenyra, who goes to Mysaria for reassurance and intimacy.
Ormund holds Corlys captive and sends Alyn a severed finger with his father's ring, hoping to weaken Velaryon support for Rhaenyra. As an enemy army approaches Tumbleton, Ormund meets secretly with Ulf and offers him Driftmark in exchange for betrayal. Elsewhere, Aegon refuses to keep fleeing when troops search for Tyland and the missing gold. Larys leaves, but Tyland stays. Sunfyre emerges alive from the woods and burns the soldiers who demanded Aegon's surrender.
