Kim Shin brings Eun-tak home after his reaction to the sword causes a car pile-up. She is pleased to have proved that she is his bride, while he must face how close he came to hurting her. The Grim Reaper and Deok-hwa help deal with the damage. Shin now wants time with Eun-tak, but protecting her requires more than refusing the death he once sought.
Eun-tak's journey to her entrance exam places her on a bus involved in a deadly accident Shin has foreseen. He discovers that she is now among the passengers and hurries to interrupt the chain of events. Tripping the thief whose motorcycle starts the collision prevents the crash. The Reapers waiting for its victims are left without their expected deaths, while Eun-tak can continue toward the future she has worked for.
Sunny tells the Reaper that her given name is Kim Sun, while Shin remembers his sister and the king at a temple. These memories remain separate from any explanation of the Reaper's own identity. A more immediate truth reaches both lovers: Eun-tak learns that pulling the sword will kill Shin. The woman in red tells Shin that refusing to fulfil that fate puts Eun-tak's life in increasingly frequent danger.
