Spike wakes in the snow and discovers that Lin shot him with a tranquiliser rather than a lethal bullet. While he recovers, Gren tells Faye about serving alongside Vicious in the war on Titan and later being imprisoned after a betrayal. Drugs administered during confinement changed Gren's body, and the meeting arranged on Callisto offers a chance to ask Vicious what happened. Faye attempts to stop Gren but is disarmed and left restrained in the apartment. Jet finds her there, and their reunion reconnects the scattered crew even as Spike continues his search for Julia.
Gren approaches Vicious in disguise to complete the drug exchange, then exposes the trap hidden in the payment. The confrontation kills Lin when he protects Vicious, and Spike arrives to join the pursuit through the sky. Gren has turned Vicious's own concealed explosive against him, damaging his ship, but the fight also leaves Gren mortally wounded. Spike reaches the fallen pilot and learns that Julia really did pass through Callisto and spoke about him. Gren's final request is to be sent toward Titan, the place associated with the comradeship lost after the war. Spike sets the ship on that course rather than collecting the bounty. He and Faye return to the Bebop, where Jet lets their interrupted partnership resume without a formal reconciliation.
