Hank retrieves the tracker from Gus's car, finds nothing useful and turns to Gus's distribution center. Walt warns Mike, then complains that Jesse still has not killed Gus. Skyler says the car wash may let Walt leave the lab, but Ted tells her he is being audited for tax fraud. Since she once kept his books, Skyler could be implicated too. At the audit she acts unfamiliar with accounting, and the investigator does not pursue prison time for Ted. The tax debt still needs to be paid.
A cartel sniper attacks Gus's distribution center and kills an employee. Gus walks into the line of fire, and Mike explains that the cartel needs Gus alive for his network. Gus later asks Jesse if he can cook alone and says the cartel wants Jesse to teach them in Mexico. Jesse declines to poison Gus's stew. When he asks Walt for a chemistry lesson, Walt reveals he tracked Jesse's car. Jesse throws the device at him, and they fight until Jesse orders Walt out of his home. Before accepting the Mexico assignment, Jesse tells Gus that killing Walt would mean killing him too. Walt’s discovery that Jesse concealed the dinner makes him doubt that Jesse still intends to carry out their plan.
