Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Bluey and Bingo keep inventing games around home, school and the neighbourhood, and the rules often matter as much as winning. In “Dance Mode,” Bandit eats Bingo’s last chip, so she gets three chances to make her parents dance; the family repeatedly takes those turns from her, and even a bribe leads Bingo to spend on a toy she does not want. They recognise that they have pushed past the point of fun and try to make things right. Other episodes take the family to Rug Island, into a game of Charades, and to Fancy Restaurant.
At bedtime, “Sleepytime” follows Bingo’s effort to sleep in her own bed. Her dream carries her and Floppy through the solar system while the tired family deal with the girls moving between beds. Mum keeps guiding Bingo back, and she wakes in her own bed in the morning. The story stays close to Bingo’s experience, while Bandit’s and Chilli’s patient responses give the night its real-world shape. Elsewhere, “Baby Race” looks back through Chilli’s memories of Bluey and Judo as babies, as Bluey compares their progress on the monkey bars. When Judo walks first, Chilli feels defeated until Coco’s mum reassures her that she and Bluey can progress at their own pace.
Later, Bluey’s unease about being left with a babysitter comes into view when Frisky and Uncle Rad are both booked for the same evening. Their questions and games do not settle her; only after the girls are tucked in does Bluey explain that a previous putdown with Nana went badly because the television was too loud. Rad and Frisky reassure her, and she can relax.
