Gus turns a nearby house into a surveillance post and keeps Mike’s people searching Albuquerque for Lalo, whom he believes is alive. Jimmy disguises himself as Howard, takes Howard’s car and picks up Wendy at a motel. He stages an encounter that makes Cliff Main think Howard is paying for sex, then returns the car before Howard leaves his appointment. Kim drives Wendy back and notices the same car following her. She confronts the men while meeting pro bono clients; Mike then explains that they work for him and that he is watching people Lalo might contact. Kim recognizes Mike as the former courthouse parking attendant and learns he saved Jimmy in the desert.
Jimmy finds courthouse staff shunning him for defending Lalo, while criminal clients flock to him. Evicted from the nail salon, he searches for another office. That evening, Kim approves a neglected property because it is close to the courthouse, jail and bail-bond offices. Jimmy’s staged stunt works on Cliff, who sees Howard’s car with Wendy and assumes the worst. The episode ends with Kim carrying information Jimmy does not yet have: Mike believes Lalo is alive, and his men are following her to protect against a possible threat. She keeps Mike’s warning from Jimmy.
