Victor and Tyrus stage an attack on Nacho’s car and Arturo’s body to disguise Gus’s killing and the drugs’ disappearance. They shoot Nacho in the shoulder, then unexpectedly in the abdomen to make the scene convincing. Nacho calls the Cousins, who destroy the car and take him to the veterinarian. Caldera saves him but warns against another cartel emergency. Bolsa, unaware that disrupted shipments serve Gus’s interests, permits him to explore a domestic supplier. Gus visits Gale at the university to discuss inferior meth samples. Gale offers to produce better drugs, but Gus tells him that he has other plans for him.
Mike refuses Jimmy’s request to steal a Hummel, so Jimmy hires Ira through the veterinarian. Ira discovers an owner sleeping in the copier office after an argument with his wife. Jimmy distracts the man outside, enabling Ira to escape with the figurine and leave a cheaper substitute. Meanwhile, Mesa Verde’s aggressive expansion unsettles Kim. She delegates more work to Viola and heads for the courthouse, increasingly drawn away from banking law. The next morning, she gives Jimmy Chuck’s letter and stays while he reads it aloud. Its praise draws little response from Jimmy, but Kim begins crying and retreats to the bedroom.
