Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Coulson, May, Daisy, Simmons, Mack and Yo-Yo are abducted from a diner and sent through a monolith to the Lighthouse, a space station nearly ninety years in their future. They discover shattered Earth and Kree rule over the station. Simmons is forced into Kasius’s service, Daisy is captured and prepared for sale as an Inhuman champion, and the team learns that Deke believes Daisy caused Earth’s destruction. Left behind, Fitz finds their trail with Hunter and enters cryosleep for Enoch to wake him later.
The agents escape to Earth and find a way to break the future loop. Robin’s visions and a fragment of the time monolith point them toward Flint, a young Inhuman who can reshape stone. Mack and Yo-Yo help Flint defend the Lighthouse before rejoining their friends for the return to the present. There, the agents confront General Hale, a Hydra officer working with the Confederacy, and her daughter Ruby. Hale plans a gravitonium weapon; Ruby takes in gravitonium but cannot control it; Yo-Yo kills her with a chakram.
The gravitonium is then absorbed by Talbot, whose new strength and unstable judgment make him the season’s final threat. He abducts Robin and Polly, attacks Chicago and tears material from the Earth as he searches for more power. May, Mack and Fitz reach the scene, but falling debris mortally injures Fitz; he dies with Mack beside him. Coulson refuses the Centipede serum that could save him, leaving it for Daisy instead. She injects it during her fight with Talbot, defeats him and sends him into orbit. The surviving agents depart together for their next mission, while Coulson and May spend his remaining time on a quiet beach.
