Spoilers for this episode.
After Renee's death, Jack Bauer pursues her suspicion that a Russian operative posed as an EMT at Samir's capture. He visits Sergei Bazhaev during his arraignment and pressures him with threats against his family. Bazhaev identifies Dana Walsh as the connection to the Russian government. At CTU, Chloe worries that Jack may lose control during questioning and asks Cole to watch the interview.
Charles Logan meets Novakovich and threatens to expose Russia's role in Hassan's assassination unless the delegation returns to the peace agreement. The Russians comply, but Logan learns that Jack has uncovered the conspiracy and is questioning Dana. Dana admits she has recordings identifying the people involved, including Renee's killer, and demands that her immunity be restored. Logan tells Taylor the truth about Russia and persuades her that revealing it will destroy the treaty.
Taylor goes to CTU and orders Jack to stop questioning Dana. He realizes that she is willing to conceal the conspiracy from Dalia Hassan to preserve the agreement. Taylor rejects the immunity request and orders Jack transferred to McGuire Air Force Base for debriefing, preventing him from pursuing the evidence. Jack is escorted to the helipad, where he overpowers his guards and takes the helicopter. Chloe is forced to request military assistance against him as he flies away from CTU.
