Chloe leaves Buchanan's house before Homeland Security agents arrive and continues working from a hotel bar. Karen quietly gives her access to the diplomatic flight's manifest while arranging for Buchanan to be brought to CTU. On the aircraft, Jack climbs out of cargo and disarms the air marshal. Chloe identifies passenger Hans Meyer as a possible Henderson contact, so Jack takes him below to search his luggage and question him about the recording.
The lead proves wrong, and the crew discovers that the marshal has been attacked. The pilot turns the aircraft around while the marshal traps Jack and Meyer in cargo and depressurizes the compartment. Jack bends a control cable to force the pilot to restore pressure and reopen the hatch. With a gun and access to the cabin, Jack insists on searching the flight while the pilot remains under orders to land as soon as possible.
Chloe discovers that the regular copilot was replaced at short notice by Evans, a former Omicron pilot connected to Henderson. Jack warns the captain, but Evans attacks him before he can open the cockpit. Jack breaks in and forces Evans to surrender the recording. At the retreat, Logan permits Martha her medication while telling Novick their difficulty is personal. Once Jack has the evidence, Graham tells Logan the plane must be shot down to prevent exposure.
