Monster Hunter Rise Getting Started
On this page
The village is a tutorial that pays you
Kamura’s Village quests are single-player and provide a gradual introduction to monsters and facilities. Hub quests support solo and multiplayer play, with monster health adjusted for the number of hunters. Starting in the Village is useful practice, but solo players can progress through either track.
Check optional requests when you return from a hunt. Their rewards vary, and several unlock useful facilities or equipment options.
The Wirebug is your new movement
You carry two Wirebugs that recharge over time, and they change three things. Wiredash moves you through the air and helps reach vertical routes. Silkbind attacks are weapon-specific moves that spend Wirebug charges to attack, counter or reposition. Wyvern Riding lets you control a mountable monster briefly, attack another monster or launch the mount into a wall.
| If you want to | Do this |
|---|---|
| Reach a high ledge fast | Wiredash upward, then wall-run |
| Recover after being knocked away | Use Wirefall when the follow-up is safe |
| Add burst damage | Silkbind attacks between combos |
| Break up a two-monster hunt | Ride one into the other |
Build from parts, not from shops
Most weapon and armour upgrades use monster parts at the smithy. Compare the whole recipe before spending a rare part, and use the wishlist to track the materials still needed.
Wyvern Riding can create damage openings when a monster becomes mountable. Wirebug and Silkbind covers the movement tools in more detail.
