Monster Hunter Rise: Wirebug and Silkbind Basics
On this page
Two charges, one economy
Rise starts you with two Wirebugs, and temporary wild Wirebugs can add another. Charges recover after use, with recovery time depending on the action.
Wiredash moves you through the air and helps start wall-runs or reach ledges. Wirefall is a separate recovery action available after many knockbacks; using it carelessly can move you into a follow-up attack.
Silkbind attacks are weapon tools
Every weapon has Silkbind moves, and each spends one or two Wirebug charges. Depending on the weapon and move, they can deal damage, reposition, absorb a hit or set up a counter. The same charge pool also pays for Wiredash and Wirefall, so leave a recovery option when learning a monster.
| Situation | Better use of a charge |
|---|---|
| Monster winds up a big attack | Silkbind counter or evade |
| You are out of position | Wiredash while sheathed; evade as needed while drawn |
| A monster becomes mountable | Use Wyvern Riding for attacks or a wall launch |
| You are knocked away | Wirefall only after checking the next attack |
The recovery trick
After many knockbacks, Wirefall spends a charge to recover in a chosen direction. It is fast, but the normal grounded recovery can be safer because it preserves the charge and may avoid a monster’s delayed follow-up.
Wyvern Riding becomes available after enough mounting damage or certain monster interactions. While mounted, attack another monster for materials and damage or launch the ridden monster into a wall. Getting Started covers the early Village loop.
