Approach and preparation

Capra Demon is the Lower Undead Burg gate after the Undead Parish route. First pick up the Basement Key from the corpse on the Parish stairs beside the lever that opens the portcullis back to the Armored Tusk. The key opens the door beside the Hellkite bridge. Descend its long ladder, then take the stairs on your right to open the shortcut door to Upper Burg’s bonfire.

There is a separate Firelink shortcut near Capra. Before entering the fog, descend the stairs to its right, clear the thieves below, and climb the circular tower stairs into the aqueduct. The female Undead Merchant is on your right; turn left along the tunnel and open the gate back toward Firelink. These two connections provide repeatable boss runs. Equip the shield, weapon, and roll you intend to use before entering the cramped arena.

Fight in the cramped room

The opening is the boss’s hardest moment. Capra and two Undead Attack Dogs rush together while the camera is still facing the doorway. Enter with your guard or evasive line prepared, move diagonally toward the staircase on the left, and do not stop to trade in the centre. The aim is the top ledge. One dog can follow you immediately, while Capra usually gives you a breath of space below. Remove the dogs first. Their short lunges and bite pressure are what turn a readable demon swing into a stun at the wall.

On the ledge, face down the stairs and wait. Capra’s recognisable threats are the broad twin machete swings, the overhead chop, and the jump attack that carries it up toward you. Do not block a whole sequence with your back to the tree or wall. Let a jump or long swing finish, move past the recovery, and take a small response. If both boss and dog are still below, dropping only after the demon commits gives you room to circle the room rather than being trapped at the bottom of the steps.

There is no phase change. The fight becomes manageable the moment the two dogs are dead and you use the ledge as a reset instead of a damage platform. Capra can follow you upstairs, so watch the camera and leave the ledge if it has already reached your side. When it falls or turns below, descend, hit after its recovery, then run the stairs again. This looks repetitive, but it turns a doorway ambush into a one-enemy fight with a stable route to space.

Reward and next step

Capra drops the Key to the Depths. Take the stairs outside the arena down into the alley, open the key door, and use the new route to the Depths bonfire before exploring too far. The next main boss is Gaping Dragon. Its arena is much larger, but the Depths contains a Channeler whose support makes that boss needlessly worse, so use the bonfire and clear the route above the fog before entering.
