The Savior is a paranormal romance by the American writer J. R. Ward, published in 2019. It belongs to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, which follows a group of vampire warriors in and around the city of Caldwell, New York.
Murhder was cast out of the Brotherhood after the organisation decided that his mental state left it no choice. He has spent the years since being visited by a woman he was unable to rescue, and the book opens with him returning to Caldwell to deal with the failure that destroyed his standing in the first place.
Sarah Watkins works at a biomedical research company and is still grieving the death of her fellow scientist and fiance when federal investigators begin asking questions about it. What she learns is that the company she works for has been running secret experiments that no ethics committee would pass, and that the man she loved was complicit in them. Her path and Murhder's cross while she is working out what to do with what she knows, and neither of them is in a position to be careful.
