Slightly Sinful
Lord Alleyne Bedwyn is a diplomat who is thrown from his horse during a war and left for dead, and he wakes up in a bedroom of a house he does not recognise with no memory of who he is.
About
Slightly Sinful is a historical romance by the English-Canadian writer Mary Balogh, published in 2004 and part of her Bedwyn saga.
Lord Alleyne Bedwyn is the middle son of the family and a diplomat, and the novel opens with him unhorsed in the middle of a war and left for dead. He wakes in the bedroom of a brothel with no memory of his name or his life, and the women running the place have problems of their own that they are only partly willing to explain. Without a past to live up to, Alleyne is free in a way he has never been, and what follows is a courtship in which neither of the two of them can be sure what the other wants, or what will happen when his family finally finds him. Balogh's Bedwyn novels give each of the six siblings a book, and this one belongs to the brother who is usually away from home.
The Bedwyn family is at the centre of the series, and Alleyne's brothers and sisters are part of the story from the first chapter.
