Lost Continent
For centuries dragons have told stories about another continent across the ocean, a land populated by tribes very different from the ones they know.
About
The Lost Continent is a fantasy novel by the American writer Tui T. Sutherland, published by Scholastic in 2018. It opens the third sequence of her Wings of Fire series, which is set on a world of dragon tribes.
The book begins the story in a new place. Far across the ocean from the dragons the series has followed so far, there is a continent whose tribes have their own histories and hierarchies, and the rumours of it that reach the other side of the world have been treated as legend for generations. The narrator of this part of the series has grown up with a name that nobody respects and a role that allows no freedom, and the discovery that the old stories are true gives a dragon with no prospects somewhere to go. Sutherland writes the series for young readers, and the books put questions of loyalty and identity inside the machinery of a large invented world.
The Wings of Fire books have been published in sequence by tribe and by lead character, and this volume is the eleventh in the series and the first set on the new continent.
