Forest of Secrets

Forest of Secrets is a children's fantasy novel by Erin Hunter, published in 2003 as the third book of the original Warriors sequence and written by Cherith Baldry under the series pen name.

The warrior Clans in the forest are still tense with one another and allegiances keep shifting, which makes it difficult for anybody to know who can be trusted. Fireheart wants the truth about how Redtail, the previous deputy of ThunderClan, died, and as he goes looking for it he finds secrets that other cats have decided are better left alone. At the same time his closest friend, Graystripe, has fallen in love with Silverstream of RiverClan, which the rules of the Clans forbid. Fireheart also has to deal with what happens when Tigerclaw turns on the leader, Bluestar, since the aftermath leaves the Clan needing a new deputy. The forest the four Clans share is based on the New Forest in England, and this volume ends with Fireheart made deputy after Tigerclaw's attempt on Bluestar's life.
