About
Dr. Maniac vs. Robby Schwartz is a Goosebumps HorrorLand book by R. L. Stine, published in 2008 as the fifth title in the spin-off series.
Robby Schwartz draws comic strips on his computer, and his best-known character is Dr. Maniac, a weird and wicked supervillain who was designed to be as unpleasant as possible. Robby is proud of him until the villain leaves the screen and begins operating in the world outside the computer, which is a serious problem, because Dr. Maniac was invented without any interest in playing fair. At the same time, seven ordinary children are trapped inside the HorrorLand theme park, and Robby is one of the few people in a position to go looking for them. That means surviving an encounter with something he invented himself, in a park where a werewolf village and a great many other attractions are waiting for him.
The HorrorLand sequence links its books through the park and the children held there, and this instalment takes its scares from the idea that a character written for entertainment might have firm opinions about how the story ought to finish.
