Conquer the Night

Conquer the Night is a historical romance novel by Heather Graham, published in 2000 and part of her Graham Clan stories. Its leading man, Sir Arryn Graham, comes to the Highlands with a single purpose, which is revenge.

The target of that revenge is Kinsey Darrow, who has committed bloody deeds against the Highland rebels, and Arryn's method is to take from him the thing he values. That means claiming Darrow's bride, Kyra, as his own, which makes her an instrument in a quarrel she had no part in choosing. Kyra becomes an outcast for accepting him, and her safety depends on his nerve.

Kyra turns out to be much more than a pawn, and Arryn discovers that in the tangle of her hair and the emerald of her eyes. She embraces what he offers knowing that it marks her as an enemy of the king, and the novel follows her afterwards as an outcast who may be hanged unless Arryn can save her with his courage and redeem himself in the attempt.
