Ark Angel
Alex Rider is in hospital recovering from a bullet wound when four men break in to kidnap the son of a Russian billionaire.
About
Ark Angel is the sixth Alex Rider novel by Anthony Horowitz. It was released in the United Kingdom in April 2005.
Alex is recovering in an exclusive hospital when a team breaks in to snatch another patient, the son of Nikolei Drevin, one of the richest men in the world. Alex fights the kidnappers off, is captured by their leader and held in an empty building while the group explain that they call themselves Force Three and that Drevin's project, the first luxury hotel in orbit, is an environmental crime in their eyes. Back in London he is debriefed by MI6 and then taken up by Drevin as a guest for two weeks, which puts him inside the plans for the launch. He begins to wonder about his host after noticing that Paul had been given no protection at all before the attack, and that Drevin owns the building where he was questioned.
Horowitz writes these as spy thrillers for teenage readers, and this one moves among a hospital, a billionaire's estate and a private go-kart track where Drevin cannot bear to lose.
