Clear Two Rows with One Block
On this page
An available block can sometimes finish two rows in one placement. Block Blast! awards extra points for clearing multiple rows or columns at once, as well as opening more board space. Multiple-line clears
Match both gaps before placing
For the example below, imagine two adjacent rows with their first six cells filled and their last two cells empty. You already have a 2×2 square available.
- Check both rows from end to end. Their only gaps must be the same two columns.
- Make sure all four cells in that shared opening are empty.
- Drag the square into the opening and release it.
- Both rows are now full, so both clear. Inspect the newly opened space before your next placement.
The example is a pattern to recognize on your board, not a layout you need to build from scratch.
If the second row has another gap
That row will stay unfinished. Count its empty cells again before spending the square; matching only one part of a row does not complete it.
Use the blocks available now. If the double clear is unavailable, consider a single-line clear or keep space for the next offered shape. Planning around usable space keeps you from committing to a move that depends on a particular later block. Keep the board open
