A backwater that is enormous
The Koronus Expanse is described as a barely charted and incredibly perilous region of space. The store is careful about the contrast that follows: despite being considered a backwater of the Imperium, it encompasses an enormous stretch of the void, and the travelling happens between its multitude of systems.
What that backwater offers
The same region is filled with dangerous creatures and prodigious opportunities for profit and exploration. Reading those two halves together is the point: the danger is what makes the profit plausible, and a captain who avoids every risk is a captain who leaves most of the value where it was found.
Every act changes the world
During quests you can show your subjects mercy or disdain, stay faithful to the God-Emperor, or consort with enemies of Mankind. The store says every decision and every act, even in character creation, is changing the in-game open world and those who inhabit it, which is a strong claim about how far the consequences of a choice reach.
