Musashi wins a duel against Tanaka and secures safe passage for Maeve's companions. At Snow Lake, Akane mourns Sakura and chooses to remain with Musashi rather than follow Maeve underground. Hanaryo joins the travelers returning to Westworld. Maeve reaches the homestead where she remembers raising her daughter, only to find the child living with another host who now fills the role of mother.
Ghost Nation riders approach, and Maeve runs with the girl despite Akecheta's insistence that they want the same thing. Elsewhere, Emily confronts William about their family and her mother's death. He initially suspects she is another host placed in his path by Ford, then promises to accompany her out. By morning he has left her behind, continuing his own journey with Lawrence before encountering a Ghost Nation ambush.
Dolores notices that the newly altered Teddy is harsher and more impatient. They prepare an explosives-laden train for an assault on the Mesa, while Charlotte finally brings Peter into the facility and receives armed reinforcements. Bernard and Elsie investigate the Cradle, whose stored host data is resisting attempts to restore park control. Bernard has Elsie connect his control unit directly to its simulation. Inside, he walks through an intact Sweetwater and finds Ford waiting at the piano. Outside the simulation, the train speeds toward the Mesa terminal.
