The gunshot at Joon-woo's house comes from prosecutor Jung's intervention. Vincenzo is taken away, but his weapon turns out to be an imitation and Jipuragi secures his release. Cha-young confronts Joon-woo directly, furious that her former intern concealed his leadership of Babel while people around them were being killed. He continues trying to play innocent, although the secret that protected him from their investigation has now collapsed.
Vincenzo changes the pressure on his enemy by arranging for drugged water to reach his retreat and frightening him in the bath. Babel responds against the workers' union, whose leader is killed after refusing its approach. Jipuragi learns that the Guillotine File, a collection of compromising information about powerful people, was stolen and lost. Its connection to Wang Shaolin leads Vincenzo to suspect it may be stored beside the gold beneath the plaza.
Cha-young and Joo-sung finally learn that Vincenzo's story about the hidden fortune was true. They agree to help keep it secret in return for a share, while the tenants continue their own search. Han-seo also acts against his older brother during a hunting trip, but the attempt does not remove Han-seok. Back at the plaza, a paid trip clears the building long enough for Vincenzo and Cho to open the vault. Their excitement at reaching the gold ends when Cho points a gun at Vincenzo's head.
