Season 3

Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

Tori's circle at Hollywood Arts keeps turning lessons and school projects into tests of nerve. A Saturday detention after a lunch mishap leaves the friends trying to outlast the day together, while Tori later takes acting advice to a dangerous underground club. Jade and Beck's appearance on Sinjin's couples game show exposes how often they fight, and they break up. Tori and Jade are then paired as a married couple in an acting exercise, where the role strains their already uneasy friendship even as they manage to work together.

Tori wins a contest to open the Platinum Music Awards, but producer Mason Thornesmith requires her to adopt a rude, rebellious persona and hide the arrangement from her friends. When Beck works out that the change is being forced on her, he urges her to be herself; Tori tells Mason she cannot continue, and he fires her. Mason then offers the slot to Jade. After Jade sees that Tori refused Beck's attempted kiss because she values Jade's friendship, she gives Tori the chance to perform instead, and Tori takes the stage on her own terms.

Other assignments take the group away from the awards spotlight. Tori believes a new student named Ponnie is repeatedly appearing and vanishing, while her friends doubt what she reports. In a student film, Tori, Jade, and Cat wear blonde disguises; Cat meets Evan while in costume and worries he likes the look rather than her. Robbie tries to reassure her with a song, but Cat is still drawn to the blonde appearance, leaving that insecurity unresolved when the season ends.
