True Blood

Season 7

Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

Bon Temps is reeling from Hepatitis V as infected vampires raid the town and take Arlene, Holly and Nicole. Tara is killed during the opening attack, and Sookie stays to help the survivors despite townspeople blaming her for drawing danger to them. Alcide is shot dead while he and Sookie try to rescue the captives. Pam, meanwhile, searches across the world for Eric and finds him in France, alive but infected and ready to give up. She persuades him to return with her, and they set their sights on Sarah Newlin, whose blood may hold a cure.

The rescue effort brings Sookie, Bill, Sam, Jason and the vampires back together, and Arlene survives after being fed clean vampire blood. Eric and Pam renew their partnership as they chase Sarah and revisit Fangtasia; Sarah’s blood cures Eric’s infection. Sookie learns she became a Hep V carrier during the Fangtasia rescue and passed the virus to Bill when he fed from her. When Eric reveals that Sarah can cure vampires, Sookie wants to save Bill, but Bill refuses the treatment and chooses to accept the disease. Sarah is captured, and Eric and Pam plan to turn her blood into a product for other vampires.

Jessica and Hoyt find their way back to each other and marry. Bill asks Sookie to help him reach the true death, saying he believes she deserves a human future without him. Sookie first considers using her faerie light, then chooses to preserve her power and kills him with a stake at his request. Eric and Pam seize control of the cure business, using Sarah’s blood to make New Blood and keeping her available as a source. A later glimpse shows Sookie pregnant at a Thanksgiving gathering with an unnamed human husband; the series does not identify him.
