What I Love I Do Not Carry

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Yennefer finds Teryn in Nilfgaard instead of Ciri. The young woman refuses rescue, accusing the mages of abandoning her when Vilgefortz took her. Yennefer leaves knowing the search has been directed toward the wrong girl. Geralt's party meanwhile enters a swamp, hoping for a quicker route. Spirits separate the companions and confront him with visions and a riddle. His recognition that he is a father answers their demand, freeing the others to continue beyond the place that has trapped them.

Milva reveals her pregnancy and considers the choice Regis offers her through a herb. In conversation with Geralt, she decides to keep the child. Yarpen and Percival leave the group, tired of death and wanting a different future. Yennefer reunites with Geralt and tells him Ciri is not at Emhyr's court. Regis proposes seeking the druids at Caed Dhu, whose power at the equinox may locate her. Yennefer departs again to pursue Vilgefortz while Geralt follows this new lead with his remaining companions.

Hotspurn buys the Rats' captive boy and exposes the assignment's link to Emhyr. Ciri leaves in anger, then catches him to free the child. He admits that his information about Bonhart was bait: the hunter expects the Rats to challenge him at Jealousy. Realizing her friends are walking into a trap, Ciri races back toward them. She knows the danger, but has no way to warn them from a distance.
