Eugene inherits two million dollars and asks Tony for permission to retire to Florida with his family. Tony reminds him of his oath, but Eugene offers gifts and a share of the inheritance. Christopher has him kill a debtor and promises to support the request. Silvio eventually delivers Tony's refusal. Eugene is also informing for the FBI, whose handlers likewise insist that he remain in New Jersey after the death of fellow informant Ray Curto.

Eugene's wife urges him to leave the mob behind, while their son's heroin use creates another crisis at home. With both Tony and the FBI blocking the move, Eugene hangs himself. Elsewhere, Tony negotiates compensation after New York associates assault Hesh and his son-in-law, Eli. Phil explains that the men did not know Eli was connected to Tony. They agree to pay fifty thousand dollars for the attack and Eli's resulting injuries.

Junior's confusion worsens as he searches for money he believes he buried decades earlier. Janice and Melfi suggest residential care, but Tony refuses. When no one else is available to stay with Junior, Tony goes to his house and prepares dinner. Junior mistakes him for the long-dead Pussy Malanga and shoots him in the stomach. Junior hides upstairs in a closet while Tony crawls toward the telephone, manages to call emergency services and loses consciousness.
