Ralph's son Justin is critically injured when an arrow shot into the air by a friend strikes him. Ralph is distraught at the hospital and turns to Father Phil while questioning whether his own wrongdoing has brought punishment on the boy. He discusses establishing a scholarship in Jackie Jr.'s name. Tony offers support but also tells Ralph about his relationship with Valentina. Junior suffers a concussion after falling on the courthouse steps. Tony encourages him to use confusion as a defense against prosecution, although Junior also shows troubling lapses away from the courtroom. Elsewhere, Ralph makes a cruel prank call to Nucci, prompting Paulie's anger and suspicions.
A fire at the stables fatally injures Pie-O-My, and the horse must be put down. Tony suspects Ralph arranged the fire to collect insurance money, particularly because Justin's treatment will be expensive. Ralph denies setting it and dismisses Tony's grief over an animal. Their argument becomes a violent struggle in Ralph's kitchen, ending with Tony killing him. Tony summons Christopher, who arrives high on heroin and helps dispose of the body. They dismember Ralph and bury his head and hands separately, while Tony avoids admitting that he killed him. After cleaning up at the Bada Bing, Tony wakes alone and notices a photograph of Tracee before stepping outside into daylight.
