Trudy's birthday brings presents, drinks and more crude jokes into the office. Rachel dares Tim to hide one of Trudy's gifts, a pink dildo, in Brent's office during a meeting with Neil. Tim accepts, while Gareth tries to compete for Rachel's attention. Brent is already copying Neil's appearance with a leather jacket and conspicuous shoes, but his vague explanation of his management style does little to impress his boss.
Two visitors from Cooper and Webb, Ray and Jude, offer Brent work speaking at corporate training seminars. Neil declines their approach, but Brent is delighted by the prospect of three hundred pounds for a fifteen-minute appearance. His attempt to arrange dates is interrupted when he finds the hidden birthday gift beneath his diary. He takes it out to the staff and makes the embarrassment worse while trying to establish where it came from.
Dawn feels increasingly excluded as Tim and Rachel flirt and organise jokes together. A warehouse visit adds another uncomfortable moment when Lee makes a crude remark about Dawn in front of the newcomers. She later joins Tim in gluing Gareth's phone down, briefly recovering their familiar partnership, but his attention returns to Rachel. At the party, Finch gets along easily with Neil, leaving Brent jealous again. Brent answers their banter with an explicit joke that stops the conversation, while Finch ends the evening having sex with Trudy in the car park.
