Grogu helps Din Djarin escape his guards inside Gideon's base. Rather than keep running, Din decides to confront Gideon and asks R5-D4 to locate the command center. The astromech opens the shield barriers one at a time, allowing Din to fight through the defenders and gather their weapons. He and Grogu discover tanks containing Gideon's clones and destroy them. Gideon later explains that he intended the copies to possess the Force, adding that power to his own abilities.
Axe Woves reaches the fleet and sends the troops down to reinforce Bo-Katan, staying aboard the cruiser as a decoy. On the ground, Bo-Katan joins Din against Gideon while Praetorian Guards pursue Grogu. Din rescues the child, and they defeat the guards together. Gideon crushes the Darksaber during his fight with Bo-Katan, but Din and Grogu return to help her. Axe crashes the burning cruiser into the base and escapes. The blast consumes Gideon, while Grogu shields his companions from the fire with the Force.
The surviving Mandalorians reclaim their home and relight the Great Forge. At the Living Waters, Din wants Grogu recognized as his apprentice, but the child cannot yet speak the creed. Din formally adopts him, and the Armorer names him Din Grogu, allowing their apprenticeship to begin. Din then arranges work against Imperial remnants with Carson Teva and obtains a droid head for parts. On Nevarro, a rebuilt IG-11 becomes marshal, and Karga gives Din a cabin outside town. Father and son have somewhere to rest between their journeys.
