At a Seattle hospital, WLF officer Elise tells Hanrahan that her squad found Cordyceps covering a basement level. Her son Leon radioed that spores were in the air and asked her to seal the doors; Elise obeyed, trapping the infected squad below. In the theatre, Ellie and Dina use a radio and map to plan a route to the hospital. Dina recalls killing the raider who murdered her mother and sister, explaining why she supports Ellie’s pursuit.
They enter a large commercial building and are attacked by several intelligent infected known as stalkers. Jesse arrives and helps them escape the infected and nearby WLF soldiers. In a park they find Seraphites killing a WLF soldier; Dina is hit by an arrow, and Jesse carries her back toward safety while Ellie slips away. Ellie reaches the hospital and finds Nora, who initially refuses to tell her where Abby is.
Nora flees into the spore-filled basement, where Ellie can follow because she is immune. Nora recognizes Ellie as the immune girl and tells her Joel killed Abby’s father, a doctor who planned to operate on Ellie. Ellie says she already knows, then demands Abby’s location. When Nora refuses, Ellie beats her with a pipe. The episode cuts to Ellie waking in her old bedroom as Joel opens the door and greets her.
