Butcher takes the reunited Boys to the laboratory where Sameer has been developing the Supe-killing virus. Sameer is working without knowing the truth about Neuman's death, and the others remain wary of Butcher's intentions. The team chooses Rock Hard of Teenage Kix as a test subject, but moving him proves impossible. Annie, Frenchie and Mother's Milk prepare to seal his room while Hughie accompanies Butcher and Kimiko to collect the virus.
Homelander releases Soldier Boy and offers to restore his reputation if he hunts Butcher. Soldier Boy intercepts the collection team and joins forces with Jetstreak and Sheline during the pursuit. The Boys change their plan to draw him into the same house as Rock Hard. Kimiko stops Sheline, and Annie rescues Hughie after Jetstreak drops him from the sky. Hughie then helps lure their pursuers toward the prepared room.
Frenchie releases the virus after a concealed handoff, killing Jetstreak and Rock Hard while Soldier Boy appears to die with them. Frenchie asks Kimiko to leave because he cannot promise to protect her from the same weapon, but she chooses to stay. Ashley's second face, Bashley, urges her to oppose Homelander while she remains afraid to act. After Vought removes Soldier Boy's body, he wakes again: the experiment has killed its targets without ending this particular threat.
