Butcher, Hughie and Soldier Boy pursue Mindstorm, whose powers can trap people inside their own minds. Butcher is caught in a nightmare of his abusive father and his brother Lenny, forcing him to confront a past he has carried into his treatment of Hughie. Soldier Boy dismisses him as a lost cause, but Hughie finds Mindstorm and persuades him to reverse the attack. Soldier Boy kills Mindstorm after questioning him about Payback's betrayal.
Black Noir's memories reveal Soldier Boy's abuse and the team's decision to hand him to the Russians with Vought's approval. At the tower, Homelander keeps Maeve imprisoned while facing Annie's public accusations. Annie records his attempt to intimidate her and refuses to withdraw what she said. Neuman also approaches him with a political bargain. A-Train wakes to learn that Blue Hawk's heart has been transplanted into him, making the man he killed part of his recovery.
Kimiko decides she wants her powers back so she can protect Frenchie, and Annie steals Compound V for her. The laboratory records also reveal that repeated Temp V doses can be fatal. Annie warns Butcher and tells him to inform Hughie, but he instead proposes obtaining more. Soldier Boy then calls Homelander with what he learned from Mindstorm: Vought used his genetic material to create Homelander. The plan to kill their enemy has become a request for a father to kill his son.
